So I jumped on a deal I didn't want to pass up last night from craigslist and came home happy.
It is an 6.0 LS2 ALUMINUM block! 400hp with 10.9-1 compression stock! It has just over 100k miles and has rod-knock which is fine because I want to rebuild it anyways. It is from a 2006 Trailblazer SS and will go great in the Mustang once it is rebuilt. The teardown will start tonight....

All Fords are better with Chevy powerplants, or so it would seem judging by all the SBC powered T-rods

SBC and LS are way different....I will never be on the SBC train lol

I will be sure to take some teardown pics.

Lucky!! I want a LS, but I'll probably just build my vq35 simply because the swap itself would be expensive.

Nothing wrong with building a VQ!! That would be badass
![]() 01/24/2014 at 11:25 |

Nah put a SBC in it lol

I may be a Ford muscle car guy.
I may be the resident muscle Mercury owner.
But that sounds FUN. What year Mustang is it going into?

Nice choice in engine. Hopefully everything is usable with a rebuild and you can turn it into a monster.

An 89 coupe. Nothing rare so no worries. Fun it will be

I am hoping for the same. If the block is usable I will be happy.

Sounds like perfection to me.
should be a blast, keep us updated.

I approve of all of this. One question though, HOW MUCH?
![]() 01/24/2014 at 12:21 |
|
Lol, aside from it being pricey for a V6, though I have plenty of time to researh due to the lack of money atm, and first things first - new tires, LSD, big brakes, and coil overs.

He was asking 900 but I got him down to $800. It's a fair price. It is only the second LS2 I have seen fro sale in my are in over 2 years so I had to jump on it
![]() 01/24/2014 at 12:35 |

That is a great price. I have been looking for IRON 5.3L and most of them are $600 or so. Maybe I should look for a rod knocky aluminum block, too.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 12:44 |

I got a hell of a deal on my iron 5.3 that is sitting in the car right now for $250! Was unable to say no on that one...

It's a good idea, and like many good ideas it's going to piss everyone off.

That is does!

No I have a project, lol. I want to put a 5.6 M117 into my W123 Wagon. It'll be faster then my 6.9!!!
![]() 01/24/2014 at 15:59 |

Yeah keep it in the family.... lol

I have a clean mustang fox for sale...it could use one of these.

I have a W123 300d that i use as DD, but i would like the fun of the v8 in my 126. I hope that by fall i 'll have it running.
![]() 01/25/2014 at 09:24 |

I hope you do too! Good luck with yer project mate!
![]() 01/25/2014 at 18:31 |

Isn't your 300TD your only non-project car and your daily driver?
![]() 01/25/2014 at 21:44 |

No actually, only project is the 6.9 resto. The 240d and the 300d are basically mint. The wagon is a DD and I want to swap a 560 into it. I am contemplating buying another wagon as to not have a out of commission DD.
